Timeless Cuisine

with

Chef Carol Scott

In Part 2 of our Kitchen 919 introduction we’d like to tell you, our Seasons Family, how Chef Carol Scott and the Kitchen 919 Team envision the timeless cuisine and local sourced ingredients featured on our new menu.

Opening this fall, Kitchen 919 has every intention of taking Knoxville’s food scene by storm. Leading the charge is Chef Carol Scott.  She began her culinary career in Las Vegas, studying at Le Cordon Bleu, later working at Bobby Flay’s, Mesa Grill and becoming head chef at Roy Yamaguchi’s, Roy’s Pacific Rim. In 2004, Chef Carol moved her family to Knoxville and worked as Executive Chef at Edison Park, The Orangery and Bravo. In 2009 she appeared as a season 5 contestant on the Fox hit reality TV show Hell’s Kitchen with Chef Gordon Ramsay. In 2012, Chef Carol opened her own personal chef company doing fine dining multi course private dinners.  As the former executive chef of The Orangery chef Scott says that “it feels nostalgic to be coming back” and is excited to be bringing years of experience and a flair for local food to Kitchen 919.

“We’re going to use as much local product as possible,” says chef Scott. “We’re using Cruze Farm for our dairy products, Shelton Farms for our cornmeal and grits, several Benton’s products, and either Springer Mountain or Joyce Farms for our chicken. That I haven’t decided on just yet.” The former Hell’s Kitchen contestant continues on with her plans to keep the cuisine as locally-inspired as possible by meeting with local farmers for additional menu ingredients.

Scott also notes that the Kitchen 919 atmosphere will pair well with the menu. “Our food will be very, very refined- and so will the decor. We’re going to have separate feels for our bar and dining areas, but as far as the food goes, it will be a more upscale experience for our guests.”
